Description
"Solidarity Arena" is a football stadium in Samara, built in 2018 for the FIFA World Cup. Samara is one of the centers of the country's space industry, so the building and dome of the stadium evoke cosmic motifs. The dome resembles a star with its rays directed towards the earth.
The football field is covered with heated natural grass and an automatic irrigation system. The Solidarity Arena stadium is designed for 44,918 spectators, who can sit in the open stands of the upper and lower tiers, as well as in the skyboxes between them. The stands are heated. People with disabilities can access the stands using 38 elevators, the ramps here have a special non-slip coating, the handrails are safety-resistant, the doors are widened for easy passage, and the stands have special areas with space for wheelchairs and accompanying persons.
For the convenience of fans, information and navigation stands are located throughout the stadium. Also, for the convenience of guests with children, there is a child registration point, storage of baby strollers and a lost and found office. Every visitor has the right to use luggage storage. Audio-descriptive commentary of the match is provided for visually impaired and blind fans.
As part of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Solidarity Arena stadium hosted 4 group stage matches, as well as 1/8 and 1/4 final matches. In May 2019, the stadium hosted the Russian Cup final match between Lokomotiv and Ural.
